Christopher P. Dum
Christopher P. Dum is a co-founder of ID13. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Kent State University and author of the award-winning book, "Exiled in America: Life on the Margins in a Residential Motel" published by Columbia University Press. He received his Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from the University at Albany in 2014. His scholarship focuses on the intersections of inequality, social control, and the criminal justice system. He is grateful to Halle Neiderman and all the members of ID-13 for allowing him to be a part of this experience.
"For me, working with the members of ID13 is an incredible privilege. I am fortunate to spend time with them, to read their words, and to help transmit their voices outside prison walls. In a world in which rhetoric is exploited to drive people apart, it is vital to recognize how language can be used for so much more. Using words instead of rock-hammers, the works of ID13 grind walls into dust, revealing the personal truths and journeys that make us all human."
