Fragile population. I took care of
8 intellectually disabled men who
Needed my determination. I
Graduated from college with a
Degree in Gerontology. I made
My family and friends all
Proud of me. I was offered
A job at a nursing home as an
Activities coordinator but I
Turned it down to continue my
Education at the University of
Toledo’s Clinical Nurse Leader
Master’s program. While preparing
For the program I continued my
Work at the group home. Then
One day I went with a friend to buy some weed. What was
A routine drug deal turned into
A robbery, and my friend was
Taken away and all was left was
His seed.The local news painted
Me as a violent person and
Disregarded all that I had done.
Not for myself, but for the fragile population.
